Why you need a clean boost

The purpose of a clean boost pedal is not simply to turn up your guitar's volume, although, it can certainly be used for such a purpose (during a solo, for example). When placed before an already overdriven amp, a clean boost will increase the amount of overdrive/distortion present in order to give you a bigger sound and to enhance your sustain. You can also place a clean boost before a clean amp to push it to the point of breaking up. Taking it a step further, the Skyline Liftup also allows you to shape your tone before the siganl ever hits your amp.
